Our health & safety manual describes the management arrangements and responsibilities for delivering our commitment on health and safety. Our dedicated health & safety department is instrumental in ensuring that all employees are made aware of, and discharge, their individual responsibilities.
Advanced Brickwork makes proper provision for the health and safety of all employees and those in the community who may be affected by its activities.
Our aim is to reduce the health & safety and environmental impact of our activities continuously by utilising a structured risk management approach, setting objectives and targets, and taking into account the needs of our customers and the public at large.
We are committed to effective communication and consultation on health & safety and environmental issues and therefore work closely with organisations to find new ways of improving standards. We are proactive in identifying areas and events where knowledge can be gained to enhance and improve safety standards.
As a minimum, we will meet the appropriate legal, industrial and environmental requirements.
Advanced Brickwork is committed to the Major Contractors Group (MCG) initiative of having a fully qualified workforce. The primary aim of the initiative is to increase the level of safety competence on site and thereby reduce the number and seriousness of accidents. Additionally, Advanced Brickwork can increase its efficiency by employing those with proof of competence in their trade.
The Qualified Workforce Initiative is better known as the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), which has become a generic reference to all competence cards approved by the MCG.
